Instead of flowers

I don't like getting flowers. I think they are a waste: they stink, they die, they are very immediate. I would rather the money was spent on a more practical gift. I even keep a list on the computer so that B.A.R can know what I want in advance. It works great for us.

I mentioned to him the other day that I liked something that I saw advertised in one of his magazines. Then he went out of town on business and came back with the item that I had mentioned. He even drove an extra 130 miles (65 each way) to go get it.

What is the most interesting gift you have received instead of flowers?

I am with you on the flowers. WOW though I don't know that my husband would go that far out of the way to find something like that. Well done for B.A.R.!!

My husband cleaned the house for me. He and I appreciated each other more after that.
Maybe that was the greater gift!

I've tried to think about what interesting gifts Matt has given me, but most are pretty standard, cliche ones--flowers, theatre tickets, books, music...

I guess I'm a flower sort of girl. :)

I don't like flowers either, but I like plants. Even though I kill those almost as fast. But at least I feel like I'm trying for something long-term. I like homemade stuff, like a mix tape or a love letter or something he built. That is a great idea to make a list!

How fun! Sooo...what did he get you? What a great way to support each other-a list. Personally, I love flowers, even though they die. I just am a little romantic at heart. -sigh- It feels like forever since I have seen you. Oh, wait. It has been!! Miss you.
